The Road

by Cormac McCarthy

I couldnt put this book down. It is totally different to my usual choice and yet it is the sort of book I long to find. It is so rare for me to find something that grips me so much that I cant bear to put it down. At the same time I didnt want it to end.I found it griping and shocking but at the same time up lifting. Something terrible has happened and despite that humanity shines through.

I agree! I loved this strange little book. After the first couple of chapters you get used to the rather odd writing style of McCarthy and even find yourself more drawn into the book because of it. I watched the film recently and really thought it did the book justice but would still recommend reading the book first!
