Marley and Me

by John Grogan

This is the most enjoyable book I have read in a long time. I was never a dog lover but have had a rescue dog now for nearly 3 years and this book strikes a particular chord with me. I'd be interested to know if a dog hater found it as wonderful a read as I did.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As a dog lover i was engrossed in it and related to the very funny naughtiness of marley as i had a dog that enjoyed eating pillows, quilts and even ate through a bed base!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not embarresed to admit that i along with millions of other readers cried at the end.

funny and true to life. it brought a lot of memories back from when we had our first dog and went to dog training classes. It certainly brings back all the emotions of owning a dog from birth to the inevitable .but as always leaves you with all the fond memoriesthat you experience from owning a dog.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I am a dog lover and to me it illustrated beautifully the development of the bond between humans and their dogs. The description of the warmth and empathy Marley showed to his owners in troubled times was really moving. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I am a dog lover and own a chocolate labrador called Monty. Labradors are not renowned for their intelligence, but are loveable, non-agressive, friendly and playful. Having read this book I realise how well behaved Monty is. This book was recommended to be by a colleague and I thoroughly enjoyed it - it made me laugh out loud in parts and in others it was incredibly sad. All dog lovers will enjoy this.

I was horrified by this book, how can so called dog lovers bring home a puppy when they're never at home to care for it, particularly a working breed, poor Marley!! Having said that it is a well written book and very funny in parts. John Grogan does admit that they didn't do their homework before buying a puppy perhaps the tag-line should be changed to Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog Owners!!

I too really enjoyed this book. I am not a dog, or any animal lover, but found this book so heartwarming. I know that for dog lovers, their pet is part of the family, and after reading this, I can understand why.
